GENERAL INFORMATION + HISTORY

Artists Recording Collective (ARC) was co-founded on December 7, 2007 by alto saxophonist, CHRISTOPHER BURNETT; tenor saxophonist, ERICA LINDSAY; and, pianist, SUMI TONOOKA as a professional response to an inherent void within the music industry then. The ongoing purpose and artists collective business approach remains to serve as an integral part of the modern music industry infrastructure.

ARC is a viable and safe platform for recording artists to reach the world with their recorded catalogs. The label was subsequently incorporated as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) entity in 2009 which was maintained up until 2020 when ARC became a featured nonprofit program of Burnett Music Foundation which in 2023 matriculated into the public charity, Kansas City Area Youth Jazz Inc.

Specifically speaking to its history, the co-founders have been successful in their endeavor to create and maintain a modern recording label brand that continually evolves to serve as a viable 21st Century Platform to promote and release the projects and recordings produced by professional artists and composers.

The original three cofounders (Erica, Sumi, and Chris) continue to develop the Artists Recording Collective label business which is now a featured program of Kansas City Area Youth Jazz Inc., a nonprofit organization based in the greater Kansas City area.
